What is Reiki?
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through gentle touch. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese terms: Rei, meaning "universal," and Ki, meaning "life force energy." Together, Reiki refers to the universal life energy that flows through all living beings.
A Reiki practitioner channels this energy to support the body’s natural ability to heal and to restore energetic balance. Practitioners are able to do this after receiving Reijiu or Attunements as part of their training.
What is a Reijiu / Attunement?
In traditional Reiki, Reiju was only ever mentioned in Japan; the western world has always used the term Attunement. Although both are believed to have the same outcome, Attunement has been very much westernised with the west’s own understanding and beliefs attached to it. Rendering Attunement much politically incorrect.
Reiju opens the Energy Pipe that everyone has from birth; this energy pipe lies in our etheric subtle body. As we grow older we take on the burdens and worry of life. In doing so the Energy Pipe gets pinched and restricted with each burden or worry. Visualise the energy pipe like a sand timer it’s restricted so the sand flows slowly. Our energy pipe is identical; it gets restricted, so energy flows very slowly.
The purpose of Rekju
it opens the Energy pipe to full bore full with, never to be restricted again. This gives the maximum energy exchange whilst performing Reiki.
Reiki Origins.
The Reiki healing system was founded by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900s. Dr. Usui was a Christian minister and educator in Japan, working in boys' schools. One day, students asked him how Jesus was able to heal. Unable to answer, Dr. Usui became deeply inspired to seek the truth behind this question.
This inquiry marked the beginning of a lifelong spiritual and philosophical journey. His dedication to understanding the nature of healing ultimately led him to Rediscover what we now know as the Reiki healing system—a method rooted in universal life energy and accessible to all.
